Dental Health

Does your dog have bad breath? If so, it’s probably more than just bad breath. It’s what is causing the bad breath that is the problem: bacteria and infection.

Dogs and cats suffer from the same dental diseases that people do. Gingivitis and periodontal disease not only destroy the teeth, but can cause stress on the internal organs as bacteria is swallowed and passed into the blood stream. Damage can occur to the kidneys, liver and even the heart. Dogs that have been diagnosed with a heart murmur are especially at risk.

If the disease has progressed for an extended period, tooth loss may occur. Aren’t you cranky when you have a toothache?

Check your pet’s teeth regularly for tarter build up. Speak to your veterinarian about regular dental cleaning.

Dogs can’t wear dentures!
